Spirituality / Pastoral CareOur priority at St Matthews is to provide a supportive and nurturing environment so that our boys and girls can thrive academically, socially and spiritually. St Matthews continues to be “small enough to care”, a school where teachers have a chance to know their students individually, to understand their needs and recognise their special gifts. St Matthews is a safe school, where the health and welfare of our students is advanced through our zero tolerance of bullying. As part of this commitment our peer mediation and anti-bullying policies, which train and encourage students to resolve issues using conflict resolution techniques, are well advanced and are being highlighted and adopted by other schools. One of the greatest strengths of our Pastoral Care program is that students have a significant adult looking after their day-to-day welfare which provides a point of reference for parents, allowing for the care and attention of the individual.
